Reservations can be made easily through our website: just follow the "reserve now" links. Your machiya stay is just a click away!
After receiving your reservation request, we will e-mail you the necessary payment information and banking details.
After checking that your reservation and personal details are correct, payment is requested by transfer to our bank account in Kyoto.
Once we have received your payment, your reservation will be confirmed.* Charges may apply for cancellations made after confirmation of your reservation.
We will contact you to let you know once your payment and reservation have been confirmed.
You select your preferred check-in time when you make your reservation. Please contact us as much in advance as possible, if you need to reschedule.
Bank Transfer
Please click the 'Bank Transfer' link on your reservation form. We will then send you an e-mail explaining how to make the payment for your machiya stay.
*Guests are requested to transfer payment under the same name entered on the Reservation Form.
Credit card payment
We are currently in the process of integrating a credit card payment system. We apologize, but at this time payment by credit card is not yet possible.
Cancellation Charge
The following cancellation charges will be applied depending on the amount of prior notice given.

Arrival
Our guests may come directly to the Iori office, or a staff member will meet you at the machiya you have reserved (Please make arrangements in advance). Guests are requested to contact us 30 minutes before arrival at your machiya or to call us when you arrive at Kyoto Station.
Check-in and rental contract
Upon check-in guests are provided with information about your townhouse and the surrounding area. After signing the rental contract, we will give you a tour of the house and then hand over the key to your machiya.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Iori office if you have any questions or requests during your stay.
Please note that Iori does not provide meals for guests. Furthermore, as a fire-safety measure we also discourage cooking in the machiya.
