The Ebisuya-cho house was built in the 1920's, the era when traditional machiya architecture reached its height of sophistication.
This home is located within a few minutes walk from the Ishifudono-cho and Sujiya-cho townhouses, along with the Iori main office and Origin Arts Practice Hall.

The Ebisuya-cho Machiya is situated in an old neighborhood of Kyoto, where many traditional houses still remain. The famous Nishiki Food Market and bustling Shijo shopping area are just a short walk north on Tominokoji Street.
